MILAN - From 17 to 20 September at the Piccolo Teatro in Milan and for the first time in the courtyard of Palazzo Reale and online on MYmovies. "Festival Mix Milano" 2020. Paola Cortellesi and M ¥ SS KETA are among the first big names expected at the 34th edition of the Milan Mix Festival of Cinema Gaylesbico and Queer Culture, scheduled from 17 to 20 September, in full compliance with the security in force, at the Piccolo Teatro in Milan and for the first time in the courtyard of Palazzo Reale in Milan in collaboration with AriAnteo and streaming on MYmovies.
Also for this edition, the MIX Milano Festival gives awards to personalities from entertainment, culture and civil society who have particularly distinguished themselves in their professional and personal activity, in promoting the culture of respect for differences and against violence of all kinds: the Roman actress will be awarded the Queen of Comedy award on the evening of Saturday 19 September, while the performer and artist will receive the Queen of Music award on the final evening of Sunday 20 September.
Under the new claim Love Together, the four-day festival will offer a program that is particularly attentive to social issues regarding civil commitment, the defense of rights and diversity, ecology, migration, with the constant aim of promoting dialogue, reflection and active participation in the debate on our present and the future of the complex reality in which we live.
Thanks to the online formula, for the first time it will be possible to follow a large part of the 2020 programming from all over Italy, which includes in addition to the 50 titles competing from all over the world, also many events in literature, theater and music, including the Queen of Comedy and Queen of Music.
This year, with the desire to contribute to the cultural and economic recovery of the people affected by Co-Vid19, for each card purchased, one euro will be donated to OutRight Action International, the association that supports LGBTQ + communities in developing countries and that at the moment it is also dealing with emergency situations due to the Coronavirus. Furthermore, for the first time, the Suspended Card makes its debut at the festival, a solidarity practice that, in the same way as suspended coffee, allows you to buy a card and leave it to those in difficulty.
Organized by MIX Milano APS (Association for Social Promotion), the festival is directed and produced by Paolo Armelli, Andrea Ferrari and Debora Guma together with a team of young and enterprising professionals. The selection of lesbian themed films is made in collaboration with IMMAGINARIA, International Film Festival of Lesbians and other Rebellious Women.
